The Sunnyside Shower Project
Making a difference one shower at a time

About The Sunnyside Shower Project
Sunnyside Shower Project is a community program of the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association Community Cares (SNACC) Committee offering showers to neighbors in SE Portland. The Groves Church has generously opened up their shower facilities for houseless neighbors to use three days a week:
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-5PM
Saturdays from 2-6PM.
Our door is always open to new guests, no matter what neighborhood you live in.
SHOWERS
The Groves Church has generously opened up their shower facilities for houseless neighbors to use on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-5PM and Saturdays from 2-6PM.
The Church does not require visitors to wear masks; we encourage people to do what keeps them safe, which means some people will be wearing masks or social distancing.

VOLUNTEER
Most volunteers do one two-hours shift every other week, though a handful do a weekly shift. The shift is always with another volunteer so that one person can remain at the front door to greet guests while another goes downstairs to the shower area to clean the shower. While guests are showering both volunteers get to hang out by the door and chat or read as they please.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays, volunteer shifts run from 1pm – 3pm and 3pm – 5pm. On Saturdays, the two shifts are 2pm-4pm and 4pm-6pm.

WISH LISTS & DONATIONS
We are always happy to receive material donations of towels, washcloths, toiletries, and used (but not threadbare) clothing and shoes. (Adult sizes only, please.) We also graciously accept donations of packaged or canned food, dog food, and bottled water. We do not accept children's clothes or toys, household items, or furniture.
We're also delighted to receive monetary donations. You can donate to the Shower Project via our fiscal sponsor, Southeast Uplift.
